KFC teaming up with Beyond Meat to make plant-based fried chicken.

As of Monday, Beyond Meat’s plant-based chicken will be available at all KFC restaurants across USA. It will be available for a limited time only. This comes after years of work by Yum Brands and Beyond Meat to make a meat substitute that tastes and looks like real chicken. Ethan Brown, CEO of Beyond Meat, said: ” From a supply perspective, we feel really good about it, and it’s something we have experience with in initial trials.” It doesn’t deter Hochman and Brown that there’s been a big rise in the Covid omicron variant across the country. With many restaurants running short-staffed, this partnership comes at a bad time for jobs across the country.

Nearly a year ago, Beyond Meat signed a deal with Yum to make plant-based substitutes for Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC. It started selling plant-based chorizo at all of Chipotle’s stores across the country on Monday. It is also aimed at people who want to eat less meat in 2022.

Giving Beyond restaurants a chance to sell more food

Before the new year started, Beyond Meat hired Tyson Foods veterans for its C-suite in December. Doug Ramsey was named chief operating officer and Bernie Adcock was named chief supply chain officer. Ramsey worked for three decades at Tyson, where he was in charge of the poultry and McDonald’s businesses. Adcock spent 30 years at Tyson, where he was in charge of operations and supply chain management. With this announcement Beyond Meat is hoping to get its stock back on track.

The partnership does, however, give Beyond restaurants a chance to sell more food. The company is trying to get more people to buy its grocery store products, which sold well at the start of the pandemic but then fell off in the following quarters. A YouTube star named Liza Koshy will be in an ad campaign for the plant-based chicken. This is the latest collaboration between fast food chains and influencers.

Orders of six or the 6 or 12 pieces of KFC’s Beyond Fried Chicken come with dipping sauce with a price starting at $6.99.
