In a video people are seen running for their lives after the Jalisco New Generation Cartel is said to have attacked a camp in the woods. There were more attacks on Tuesday by the well-armed cartel that moved in with drones to bomb a rival camp. Dozens of people are expected to flee the city because they are afraid that the Jalisco New Generation cartel will continue the bombings.
A war has broken out in Mexico between groups that want to control the drug markets.
This adds to the violence that has been going on in the country for years. The group called Jalisco New Generation Cartel was created in 2009. It is now the most dangerous and powerful cartel in Mexico. Its drug trafficking empire now reaches all corners of the globe, despite ferocious competition from other cartels in Mexico and increasingly desperate efforts from international authorities to hold them back. For information that leads to the capture of the cartel’s leader, the US Drug Enforcement Administration is even offering a $10,000,000 reward. Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes is the man in charge of the group.
When an older cartel broke up at the end of the 2000s, rival factions fought to fill the power vacuum. This void lead to the creation of Jalisco New Generation Carte. The drug lord El Mencho had oreviously worked for a cartel led by “El Chapo” Guzmán called the Sinaloa Cartel. People now say the group has $50 billion in assets and has become the most powerful cartel in Mexico, making them the most powerful group in the country. When Rosalinda González Valencia was arrested on money laundering charges in November, Mike Vigil said that it could do ” significant damage” to the cartel.
Vigil is one of the best people in the world at studying Mexican drug cartels. He was also the former head of international operations for the DEA, and he worked as an agent in Mexico. He said that González Valencia has been in the narco world since she was very young, because her family started the Milenio cartel in the 1970s. “She is a key figure within Jalisco New Generation,” he stated. People say Rosalina is the financial genius behind the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, and we think that she has been laundering their money.
